Sept. 7, 2008: Number of Homes ‘For Sale’ Dropping
The number of previously owned homes on the market in Rancho Cucamonga has dropped about 17 percent in the past six months, and 35 percent from September 2007, according to figures available from the Inland Multi-Regional Multiple Listing Service. On Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, there were 804 previously owned homes listed for sale in the city. On Sunday, March 9, 2008, there were 970 homes listed for sale. On Sept. 17, 2007, there were 1,237 listings available in Rancho Cucamonga.
Over the past six months, Chino showed the largest drop – 27 percent – in the number of homes listed for sale in the MLS in the region, closely trailed by Ontario, with 23 percent fewer homes listed than on March 9, 2008. In Montclair, the number of previously owned homes listed for sale in the MLS was 22 percent lower on September 7 than on March 9, 2007.
San Dimas showed the least amount of change since March, with 136 previously owned homes for sale on March 9 and 135 for sale on Sept. 7. The change was also slight in Claremont, where 118 homes were for sale on March 9 and 116 on Sept. 7. The number of listings is down almost 8 percent in Fontana, 12 percent in La Verne, 13 percent in Pomona, and 18 percent in Upland, according to the MLS.
