Inventory of previously-owned homes declines, is this good news for prices?

Here is a useful resource for homeowners in our community.
According to Ila Josephss Blog where the activity in residential home sales is reported for Rancho Cucamonga and the surrounding cities. The inventory of previously owned homes is declining steadily. This may be good news for the declining sale prices in our area.
Here is an excerpt from Ila’s blog:
Nineteen previously-owned homes closed escrow in Rancho Cucamonga during the week ending March 22, 2008, and 25 Rancho Cucamonga homes reportedly entered escrow during the week, according to the Inland Multi-Regional Multiple Listing Service, which reports listings and sales of previously-owned homes.
The MLS said 54 new Rancho Cucamonga listings were added during the week, for a total inventory of 953 previously-owned homes listed in Rancho Cucamonga on March 23, including 677 single-family homes with no monthly fees and 276 condominiums, town homes and single-family homes in associations. One Rancho Cucamonga single-family home was priced under $200,000, according to the MLS, and another 39 single-family homes were offered at less than $300,000.
Thanks for the valuable detail Ila.
