So what’s in a slogan if you don’t live up to the words you use?
Most of B3Digigrafx customers are other businesses, serving their own customers, so no one is in a better position to assess whether on not B3 lives up to its slogan.
Recently Teresa Mowdy received an unexpected, but much appreciated package from one of B3DigiGrafx long time customers of more than 15 years. Unexpected because Teresa was only doing what she believes is just what her customers are expecting, “I was just doing what I always try to do”. But, that’s not what Gillian Cross from Best Signs in Palm Springs California thought when she needed several critical orders in the last few days and Teresa and her team handled them without a hitch. Gillian was so appreciative she took the time from her busy schedule to thank Teresa by sending her an edible treat. (The treat had been devoured by Teresa and her team mates by the time the camera cane round)
In response to Teresa’s thank you email Gillian wrote;
“Teresa
We are a family owned business, which my father-in-law started 50 years ago. I know how valuable great employees are.
A company can have a great product, but if you don’t have great service to go along with it, it doesn’t matter.
So, enjoy your treats, and have a wonderful weekend!”

This may be the closest Teresa and Gilliann come to meeting face to face, but they now have a little better idea who’s on the other end of the next phone call.
Photo Backdrops, Step and Repeat Banners by B3DigiGrafx
Palm Springs International Film Festival and Gala event is well under way in a number of venues around Palm Springs, California. The principal Red Carpet photo shoot takes place through the entry way of the Palm Springs Convention Center. Eighty feet of Cartier and Mercedes logos on the rich red Cartier background provide the photo backdrop for the Gala event. Foam core panels 8 feet tall provide a number of backdrops surrounding the building structure.
The result is what the fans all around the world see on TV and print.
Event graphics generally demand last minute changes to art, and print requirements, when dealing with large events, with many sponsors, the demand is heightened. Unlike tradeshows or product campaigns, much of the organization comes down to the wire. Sponsors are solicited up to and including the event date. The ability to facilitate last minute additions or changes to art or print formats makes a huge difference to the event organizers. Surprises’ in set-up like “That wall was not there last year!” are not uncommon, especially where events are only held annually.
Step and Repeat photo backdrops, and way finding signs are the principal requirements for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Printing directly on rigid 4’ x 8’ panels on B3DigiGrafx new OCE 550xt made possible last minute production and delivery just in time. Print and mount of adhesive vinyl in producing large panels would not meet the time frame or the price point.
When you have an event that depends on many different print formats and short time frames, contact B3DigiGrafx.
Photo backdrops and Step and Repeat banners are branding photo shoots with persistence few other media can deliver.
This session illustrates how well the the 8′ UV printed sponsor boards perform as a photo backdrop under the intense TV lighting. The 4′ x 8′ 1/2 inch panels were printed on the B3DigiGrafx OCE 550xt printer.
Panels as large as 8′ x 10′ with thickness to 1.8″ are directly printed to the substrate. As you see the colors are brilliant.
Technology has improved the image quality of prints dramatically as illustrated here click on the image:
This image printed on the OCE was photographed with a high resolution camera to illustrate how vivid your graphics can be, click here for the full size image.
Having been an early adopter of new print technologies has helped to keep B3DigiGrafx a leader in the large format printing business, offering its customers the latest in product offerings in a very competitive field.
Print on a wider variety of materials, more options for you our customers:
Keeping up with the latest technology takes resources and a little bit of courage in times like these. Near photo quality images are produced using the OCE “variable-dot” technology. The newest addition to our B3 print systems is an OCE Arizona 550 XT. This printer is capable of printing a 8’ x 10’ rigid substrate 1.8” thick. Near photo quality encourages your designer to be bolder with their graphic presentations. Museum and display graphics were never so stunning, how about a wall graphic that mimics the real world. POP displays were never so effective in showing off a product.
An integrated white ink system for seamless transition to transparent and colored substrates:
The OCE also offers a nifty feature called “Night and Day” where white ink can be layered between two color layers. Backlit signs that were just too dark in the daylight now look great even when the light box is turned off. This saves energy during the daylight hours with the illuminator turned off. Turn on the illuminator and the image is just as bright and clear.

Will retailers take advantage of Pop-up stores like the 600 planned forToys“R”Usthis holiday season. For those who are not familiar with the popup store, they will be appearing again this year in vacant spaces at malls, and just about any other place where there is retail traffic.
The store concept has been tested by many retailers and found to be successful reportedly producing $800 ~ $1,000 per square foot in sales. These temporary stores range in presentation from the glitzy to the stark garage sale. What retailers will be using them, and the success they have this year will of great interest to those companies who provide their print graphics. The Popup store is not just a national phenomena, Vans was seen in France with a PopUp in Marais neighborhood of Paris.
This is an opportunity for full service Large Format Printers to use the full range of print formats they provide. PopUp stores rely heavily on print graphics to provide the atmosphere of the experience. Empty store spaces are temporally transformed into branded sites. Popup stores are great venues for testing new store concepts.
B3DigiGrafx has added another print format to its capabilities the Océ Arizona 550 XT. Printing of large format rigid materials like Sintra, FoamCore and even Wood products is nothing new at B3. The addition of the Océ Arizona 550 XT with “Near-photographic image quality” and high speed adds to its range as a complete solution to retailers. We will begin offering the most aggressive retail display graphic package in November. Samples of this Near-photographic image quality are in the works.
B3DigiGrafx will be participating in the Inland Empire Largest Mixer on the 27th of October at the Ontario Convention Center.
