Mesh Banners printed on Large Format Printers, B3DigiGrafx 800.624.1691 Repeat Banners, Step and Repeat Banners, Repeat Logo Banners, Repeat Banners printed in Mesh

Here is a very clever use of the material shape and color, mimicking a bandage to send a clear message. The CHW Medical Plaza located at 17051 Casmalia Street in Fontana, CA. is visible from the 210 freeway.

There are many ways to send your message with large format printing. By the nature of its size its sure to get your attention. Most designs use the material for its print quality and suitability for the application. Mesh banner material is widely used for outdoor applications in windy areas. The perforations reduce wind resistance and lift. Mesh also presents a matte finish reducing glare in high light uses.

Another one of my favorite uses for large format printed mesh banner material is the faux store fronts. In this example at Faison Island in Newport Beach CA. a store renovation is masked from the shoppers.

Graphics are often used on construction barriers previewing the new business; however these are usually short term and only come with the new tenant. Shopping areas where store closures caused by the recession may be keep attractive for the remaining businesses with large format printing. Here is an example of effective use of large format print for vacant stores.

Fake businesses are to be used to lessen the impact of the recession on high streets in North Tyneside.

“‘Attractive to shoppers’

Judith Wallace, North Tyneside Council’s deputy mayor said: “The economic climate has forced many businesses to bring down the shutters.

“We need to ensure that the remaining businesses continue to survive and that means ensuring our high streets look attractive to both shoppers and potential business investors.

“This is a simple and cost-effective approach that keeps the retail unit available for potential new uses and in the meantime also contributes to the street scene.” Read the BBC article here:

Modular systems containing graphics with the faux storefronts are available from B3DigiGrafx. These easily assembled systems are widely used for trade show booth construction. They were nicely adapted to presenting store front graphics. The system is assembled with one key wrench for flexible size and reuse.

Contact your B3Digigrafx representative a consultation.

B3Digigrafx moved its operation from Riverside, California in the fall of 2009. The new management team for the RC Quakes also arrived in town in late 2009. The Brett management expressed an interest in working with a local company for their large format print requirements. B3DigiGrafx arrived just in time to fill the bill. We were determined to treat the Quakes project as a “home game” we were determined to win. The management team has moved from Washington State to take up redolence in Rancho Cucamonga, apparently bringing their hometown climate with them. It has rained almost every week since their arrival. We certainly needed the rain but this much must have left questions for the newcomers that we were in the sunshine state.

“Bobby Brett and his brother, Hall of Fame player George Brett are leading an ownership group that will purchase the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes according to current majority owner Hank Stickney. The Brett brothers have established a solid reputation as owners in minor league baseball. Bobby Brett is a part owner of the Spokane Indians, and George Brett’s part-ownership of the Tri-Cities Dust Devils has been credited for turning that team’s fortune around. Not that Rancho Cucamonga has needed anything in the way of a turnaround; the team has led the California League in attendance for the last several years. “

Two elements together in POP display that really Pop! Wood and White Ink, bright rich color printed directly on wood.

When you want to upscale your POP display or branding in general, consider natural materials like wood and glass. Direct printing with white ink backgrounds will make your project stand out from ordinary print jobs.

Large format printing has been in the exclusive realm for white substrates, where all the color and black in an image is provided by the CYMK process. These inks are translucent and rely on the white substrate for brightness.

The attraction of printing on rich natural textures for POP displays kept B3DigiGrafx hunting for a method to print rich color directly on wood. Until white became practical, direct printing on wood was limited to muted color and highlights were out of the question.

You can illustrate the effect of white ink printed backgrounds with your inkjet printed and ordinary transparent velum. Print your color image on the velum and then place the velum on a white background. Compare the velum image with and without the background. The brighter the background white the brighter the color image.

Without white ink, printing on wood for decorative effects such as wall coverings and artistic images was commonplace. POP displays call for more robust imaging. POP on wood is seen closely by the viewer, more so than decorative elements. Direct printing on natural material like wood and leather for POP displays present richer, more durable images than applied vinyl. White ink in the process makes bright rich color imaging possible on wood substrates.

Transparent materials, glass, polycarbonate (Lexan), and acrylics lend themselves to full color imaging with the addition of white ink. Highlights and bright colors are now possible with the addition of white printed backgrounds.

Until a few short years ago printing white was not practical with ink jet printers. No point going to the gory details of inks and why white was such a problem, but if you really want to know you can read this white ink US Patent 6989054.

3M Panagraphics III for long term service was the substrate used for this project.

The following YouTube time lapsed video shows the process of installing the Super Large Graphics on the face of the Mickey Fun Wheel.

The project involved months of planning with the corporation of the Disney designers, B3DigiGrafx, and its material suppliers. Mickey’s face was printed on 3M materials then mounted on the 3M Panagraphics III substrate. The program included a long term 3M warranty. The gondolas were also refurbished with new graphics from B3.

Your next project will receive the same attention and expertise as the Mickey program.
